Every wedding is unique because every couple is unique. The days are an intimate celebration of love, even if the setting or number of people is not necessarily “intimate” in size. I describe wedding days as intimate because of the journey of togetherness that a couple is entering into, all surrounded by people who have seen them in various stages of their lives. I had the privilege of documenting a wedding that exuded warmth, joy, and authenticity. It was a tapestry of moments woven together with love, laughter, and the promise of sharing all their days.

A European-inspired Garden Party

The venue itself seemed to radiate with light, literally and figuratively – it was a warm, sunny day, and friends & family came from near and far to celebrate a couple whose friendship was undeniable. The wedding took place in a fragrant garden, bathed in the soft glow of sunlight.

The essence of a wedding lies in the candid emotions that unfold throughout the day. From this bride’s excitement as she slipped into her show-stopping (and as she called it, the “Spanish-style European wedding dress of her dreams”) gown, to the groom’s tears as he saw his bride walking down the aisle, every fleeting emotion is felt and intended to be captured. To freeze these moments in time. It’s about capturing not just the physical moments but the emotional depth of the promises made.

As the day progressed, the atmosphere was filled with celebration. The vibrant hues of the decorations, which included citrus fruit and parasols, the outdoor cocktail hour under string lights and a pastel sunset, and kids running free on the garden lawn as golden light danced with them- all of these were etched into this couple’s and their guests’ memories, and preserved through photographs as a visual translation of a day they won’t forget.

Amidst the excitement of the day, it was the intimate moments that truly stood out. The stolen glances between the newlyweds, the toasts of the bride’s sisters, the sacred moments in their ceremony, and the whispered words that only they could hear – these were the instances that revealed the depth of their connection.

Photographs have the unique power to freeze a moment in time, allowing it to be relived over and over again. As the sun set and the golden hour cast its enchanting light, we snuck away from the crowd to capture portraits. It has to be one of my favorite times in a wedding day. Everything slows down, the couple gets to take each other in, and the magic happens. The affectionate gazes, the genuine laughter, and the romantic strolls became forever encapsulated in the form of photographs.
